Trauma Therapy: This therapy uses a three phase, safe trauma treatment approach to help people overcome the symptoms they are experiencing and heal from their traumatic experiences. The first phase includes gaining skills to understand and regulate emotions, set goals to meet by the end of therapy, understand and challenge unhealthy patterns/habits/addictions, and communicate effectively. This phase also focuses on helping people learn about how trauma has impacted their life. Through understanding their brain, nervous system and the impact of trauma on their lives they begin to have more insight and realize they are having a normal reaction to unusual events. The second phase is where you will begin to work through your trauma(s) and heal from the experiences you have had. Also in this second phase we will explore how trauma has effected your life and how to reduce/eliminate these symptoms. During this phase Eye Movement Desensitization Reprocessing (EMDR) is used to help people process and heal from overwhelming and traumatic experiences. The third phase will focus on re-connection. In this phase we will establish a safety net in your community, talk about healthy relationships, and help you gain the skills to have a healthy life after therapy. During this phase you will be empowered to reconnect with people that matter to you and create a community of hope and healing.
